Dr. Adam Auerbach

Dr. Auerbach is originally from Florida and graduated with a BA in Elementary Education from The University of Florida in 1998. He moved to NC and began teaching in NC during the 1999-2000 school year at Mallard Creek Elementary in CMS. In 2002, he moved to Cabarrus County and helped open Cox Mill Elementary. He has a Masters in Elementary Education and a Masters in School Administration from UNCC. In 2005, he became an assistant principal at Weddington Hills Elementary and helped open Cox Mill High School in 2009 as the assistant principal. In 2011, Dr. Auerbach received his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Wingate University and was named principal at Wolf Meadow Elementary.  Dr. Auerbach was Cabarrus County Schools Principal of the Year for the 2014-2015 school year, and the 2015 Regional NC Principal of the Year for the SW Region.  He became principal at Concord High School in 2016.  He was the 2021-22 Cabarrus County Schools Principal of the Year, as well.  His wife Anna is a teacher in Cabarrus County and his sons Alec and Axel are big Spider fans and attend Coltrane Webb Elementary and JN Fries Middle.

Mrs. Chrissy Rotan

Mrs. Rotan is an alumnus of Concord High School.  She attended NC State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Math and Science Education.  She also received her graduate degree from Wingate University in math curriculum and in administration.  

Prior to becoming an assistant principal, Mrs. Rotan taught math and science at the middle school and community college levels, and served as an International Baccalaureate Coordinator. Mrs Rotan was the Cabarrus County Assistant Principal of the Year in 2020-2021 and she was the NASSP North Carolina Assistant Principal of the Year in 2020-2021.

Mrs. Rotan will work with students whose last names begin with S-Z.

Ms. Janice Witherspoon

A South Carolina native, Ms. Witherspoon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities and Social Science from Morris College and a Master of Arts degree in Education Theory and Practice from The Ohio State University. She received her School Administration Add-on Licensure from Wingate University in 1990. Ms. Witherspoon began her teaching career in New York before returning home to the Carolinas to become a classroom teacher at Wolf Meadow Elementary. A dedicated educator, Ms. Witherspoon has served as Lead Mentor, Summer School administrator, member of the School Improvement Team, and Engagement Facilitator during her years in Cabarrus County Schools. She was recognized as the Wolf Meadow Teacher of the Year in 2002-2003 and 2013-2014.

Ms. Witherspoon works with students whose last names begin with the letters M-R and OCS. Her other administrative duties related to students are transportation, clubs, and field trips. Ms. Witherspoon is responsible for working with teachers through Educators Handbook, the Spider's Success Squad, PBIS/MTSS, ISS, and the Beginning Teacher Mentor/Mentee program.

Mr. Jeremy Hachen

Mr. Hachen received a bachelor's degree in History Secondary Education from Appalachian State University and a Master's of School Administration from UNCC. He taught social studies and AP Capstone at Central Cabarrus High School before joining the administration at Concord High.

Mr. Hachen's responsibilities include textbooks, student parking, facilities, safety, and students with last names G-L.

Ms. Carrie Hall

Mrs. Hall received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and Secondary Education from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership at Appalachian State University. She worked in Iredell County for most of her career as an English teacher and a school coach and was the AP at Cabarrus Health Sciences Institute last year. Her favorite things to do include reading, going to Broadway shows, and spending time with her husband and two children, one of whom attends UNC School of the Arts and one who is a 2023 graduate of NC State with a degree in Statistics.
